Making the site behave

A short list remembers dismissed banners and basic display settings so the board looks the same from page to page. No personal information passes through them and the site behaves strangely if they are blocked.

Counting visits

Anonymous measurement of which reviews are opened, how long they hold attention and roughly where the visit originated. It exists so the re-timing schedule follows reader interest rather than our own curiosity. No individual is identified at any point.

Crediting registrations

Click a commercial link and the operator drops its own cookie so an account opened afterwards is credited to us. That cookie belongs to them and runs under their policy. It gives us no sight of your account, your balance or anything you do once you are inside.

Turning it all off

Every browser blocks and clears cookies from its own settings and nothing here requires your consent to anything. Blocking measurement costs you nothing whatsoever. Blocking attribution costs us the commission and costs you nothing, and we would rather state that plainly than bury it.

If the list grows

Anything beyond these three purposes gets written onto this page before it starts running, not after somebody notices.
